Subawanga, Tanzania & Mpanda, Tanzania
We are highly thankful to God and to you for the precious donation of two churches/training centers in Sumbawanga and Mpanda. We will always pray for you for this precious gift to our people and nation.
I know that you are very eager to know the impact these churches have caused in the areas they have been built. Surely there is an impact on the communities but it’s still too early to tell. The churches in Sumbawanga and Mpanda are 8 and 4 months respectively. They are very new to the areas where they have been built and It will take some time to see tangible results on the communities.
However, as for individual concerts, their spiritual lives have already began to show tremendous changes. They are now worshipping a living God instead of being followers of religion. For the time being, they are being discipled to enable them to know intimately their God and Savior Jesus Christ. Growing them in faith is a process and we believe God who started a good work in them will complete it.
Some, originally, were not Christians at all, some were Roman Catholics, some Lutherans, and some were without any religious affliction. We have in the areas Muslims and pagans we must to win to Christ.
We have about 45 members (including children) in Sumbawanga and 27 members in Mpanda (including children). We are currently training them how to pray for their families, friends and communities and how to bring them to Jesus Christ through living exemplary lives, engaging in house evangelism and other outreaches.
Sooner we will begin literacy classes. We have several people in the areas were the churches have been built who cannot read and write. This is part of our training package. We give this priority because it helps those who have become members of our churches to know how to read the Bible and those in the community to become literate. We also plan to introduce Bible schools to help produce pastors and other ministers for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
